The current water regulations state that all new pipe work must be protected from freezing as a burst pipe is a cause of waste. But a burst pipe means more to most of us than waste water. The damage caused can be devastating and whilst insurance will probably cover the financial inconvenience nothing will cover the disruption to every day life. Ensuring that pipe work is installed correctly and properly insulated where necessary will guard against such an event.

Access to Pipe work is another important consideration when designing a system. Whilst it is an attractive idea to have the pipes completely out of site under the floor or hidden in the walls access in the event of a leak can disproportionally difficult and disruptive.
